It will be Liz and Lisa's fault! They are practically forcing me! Forget the fact that the yarn is sitting out on the dining room table. And it won't be my fault if it just happens to get wound into balls. No really, I can't be blamed for anomalies that occur in time and space. Besides, I am {} close to finishing Keefely, just the last thumb to do. So that deserves to have a new knit to cast on. Right? Right!
But I will try and be good and finish the other items on my list before allowing myself to cast on new items. And the next thing to be cast on is another pair of mittens. Still need to find a pattern to use. I have some lovely Pastaza, in a gorgeous green to use. Or I could stash dive and find something else equally lovely. Maybe I should just grab the odd balls of Elann Pure Peruvian Alpaca and stripe a pair. That way I might not be so bored! I don't want to do another stranded pair so soon, but a stripey pair might be fun. And if I mix up some stitch patterns, that would make it interesting. Hmm, it's a thought. Just need to make them a pop over style.

Ya know, these unfinished ones could still be salvaged. I can rip back a bit and finish them with ribbing. Then add a mitten top to them and knit the thumb. And I am already 60% done with the first hand! Sounds good to me.
I took the needles out to use for something else, but I can just stick them back in lickety split. That is, if I remember what needle size I was using! The pattern should tell me that. I am loving this idea. These were originally being made for Chlo anyway. Now she will be in town this weekend, maybe I can finish them before she goes back. But on to the thumb of the secretary's pair. If I can finish them before school's out tomorrow I can get them to her. Just need to add the thumb and wash and dry them.
The snow was gone by afternoon. Once the kids got home I think they were searching far and wide for any remnants! Not much in our neighborhood, due to lack of trees to shade the ground. Dia, the new car, was not happy to be out in it. She is just a baby! Poor thing needs a bath. I plan to give her one tomorrow if the weather is clear and not too cold. Just not by my hand.
I hope you like the new look. It was time for a change, but trying to get it all to work with the layout and skin was a pain. I still don't like the blue color, but can't get it to take the color change I want. I want a nice pinky red, but it won't follow my lead. And added to the gutter on the left, are the meet up dates we have in place for the Indiana Knitters Ravelry Group. You don't have to be a group member to join us, come on out and knit as we travel around the state. We have some fiber show meet ups planned too. We will go anywhere! February's date is the 9th, 1-3 pm, at Stitches and Scones in Westfield. We are trying to get to areas outside of Indy to allow those, who live further away, a chance to come and knit. Which would be me! I think I could win the prize for coming the furthest. Except I can stay at my sister's in Indy and driving from there isn't as far as from home.
OK, I am rambling! Trying to avoid that mitten thumb! It will take such minimal effort, I just need to do it! What is it about finishing that last little bit sometimes?
Blessings: A quiet day at home. I did have to get out for errands this morning and Bball practice tonight. But for the most part I was snug at home. Chicken and Dumplings for dinner was another bright spot.
