T - 22 hours and counting. Not that I am counting the seconds, but I am keeping an eye on the clock to be sure I don't run out of day light before my lists are done. And today is a doozy. Get shower, get ready (hey, if I don't list it, I might forget to put clothes on!), leave home (avoid the 6 yard trash receptical*), drive to store, buy birthday present, make copies at Kinko's of states we will drive through (trying to think of a fun game for the girls to try - Mark off the cities we pass. It should last until we are halfway through Kentucky!), pick up MIL, drive her crazy to airport, come home, get lunch, pack clothes, pack snacks, pick up house, wait for Hubster to return from Louisville, get dinner somewhere, drop off Younger at birthday party, take Elder to Harry Potter movie, one parent leaves movie early to pick up Younger, go home and crash!
In knitting I was able to get past the first color of Summer and through the first color change. Wow, what an accomplishment! I only knit on it while waiting for Younger's piano lesson. Yesterday was full up and left little time to knit. But I did some needlework at my EGA meeting. We are learning Pulled Thread, well some of us are, others are very versed in it. I plan to take my pin cushion to Florida to work on it some more.
Got a knitting date set up for Monday July 5th, somewhere in Florida. When I find out where, I will post the meet up just in case we have any Florida readers out there. My friend J, who moved to Florida 3(?) years ago, and I will get together for gabbing and knitting. I think she has been making socks, socks and more socks since moving there! What does she need wool sweaters for when she lives in the tropics? And even though I will be staying in the tropics I will have wool and wool blends to work on, plus some cotton things. And just to show I am not over-exaggerating the over-packing, here is my knitting stuff. Think I have enough? Maybe I should pack more. The Cross-stitch case has 4 projects in it, of course they are small ones.
Well, I must procrastinate no more. Time for the day to begin! OK, so it actually began 2 hours ago, but now it is time to get going with it. Next post will be from sunny, but DSL slow Florida! Hmm, maybe I can get a broadband hook-up while there? Any body know where I can get a free month's "trial" on broadband? Well, a girl has to "try it out" before she buys, wouldn't want to get a dud! Hope your vacation is great, and I hope mine is too!
*With the kitchen redo on the brink of disaster beginning my Hubster requested a dumpster be delivered to our home. Not having a small dumpster (we don't have that much trash!) our Trash Picker-Upper Guy brought us a 6 yard size but will only charge us for how much we dump. I doubt we will fill 1/16th of it. Now to keep the neighborhood from dumping stuff in it!
