It's true

posted Wednesday, 26 September 2007

Hubster asked me if I had put on 100 miles today without leaving the county. Just about right. My day consisted of running 2 girls to school, boxing up shop stuff, getting showered, picking up 1 girl, delivering her to the orthodontist, waiting to hear she has no room in her mouth for her teeth and hey, what's this extra tooth doing there?, at least we "think" it's an extra tooth, before delivering her back to school, but not before getting her lunch and running by the shop to look at a customer's project, since I was driving right by it, and seeing a former customer who is now an Ohioan(?), OK, Buckeye, and barely getting to hug her, before I ran off to get Elder back to school, and then running the shop stuff to the post office, where I made reference to the crabby guy who used to work the window, only to find out he passed away!, oops, which was all before I went to Enjoy it to reserve a table for the 8 of us lunching after knitting today, what knitting?, and then running back to the shop to pick up another order to be shipped out, while taking a call from one of the knitters who thought she left something, but it might have been left at Starbucks last night, so I told her I would run by Starbucks, since I was passing it anyway, which I did, and I might as well get a Strawberries and Cream while I am here, before making it to the post office where we discussed Crabby Man again, before I just drove home and collapsed!

So how was your day?

But I did knit for a bit while waiting at the Ortho. Yikes! $135.00 for ANOTHER set of X-rays, since the last ones don't show us what that mystery object is between one of the front teeth and the bi-cuspid, that isn't growing in, which may be the reason WHY it isn't growing in. Evidently my parents should not have had kids based on their teeth to mouth issues. So I called Mom and told her I want new parents. She thinks it might be a little too late. Think so?

To keep you from noticing a major lack of knitting progress, let me show you L's lovely backpack. She's a Laurel Birch fan, and her bag is just awesome! She was my knitting teacher, so now I will be her bag making mentor. She is planning another bag to use a larger Laurel Birch print. And also to use up her stash of quilting materials. Me too! I picked out some fabric to make my own Chelsea Bag. And then I need to order the Chloe Bag and find fabric for another Chelsea and one Chloe, to make for my cousin's daughters, of the same names. And the bags just suit their personalities to a T. I am also getting the Wonder Wallet pattern for a friend. Like I need anymore bag patterns!!

OK, here is a shot of the reswatched Mr Not Greenjeans. I think the 6 row cable shows much better. So I will go with it. Not sure how many repeats of 4 rows they have on the pattern, but it will be easy to adjust it to 6 rows. Now to pace myself on this so I don't get wrist strain from the cotton content. Man, it wrecks havoc on my wrists! I planned to start it today while at knitting, but there's that running that kept me from knitting. But what's my excuse for the last 5 hours I have been home? Ravelry! Which will be the subject of my rant tomorrow.

Blessings: Full house today even if I didn't get to knit with them. I did get to lunch with them. Dork's Best Friend even came back in town to knit. And seeing old knitting friends, but not Old, was really nice. I just wish I got to spend more time with them.
