I am always amazed at what brings people to my site. But this one just really blew me away. I doubt I have ever been the #1 hit for a search on knitting, and here I am at the top of the page for this? And "how do I keep my back straight"? Beats me. How Do you keep your back straight? I just throw my shoulders back and lengthen my torso. Works for me. Now this one, it's closer to the mark. "How do I knit Intarsia". Unfortunately I don't have any tips for Intarsia knitting on the site. Sorry. So, what's your weirdest search link?
Knitting Guild has indeed grown up. There were 11 of us last night. The last time I made it there were only about 3-4. Just wish it wasn't so lonely a drive. I guess I need to recruit some to go with me. Most were working on dish cloths. I have yet to make a dish cloth. Oh wait, I made one for an echange. They are just not my thing. I don't really use them over any other type of cloth. I don't enjoy knitting with the yarn. I am just not into them. They make a great gift item, more the face cloth than the dish one. I guess I won't ever feel the pull. The program was on the Knitted Flowers book. Which was so funny because I just finished 2 flowers from the book yesterday. I didn't even think to bring them to show. The ones she was showing were different than the oens I did, so of course I had to come home and cast on for one. I grabbed a TNNA Taos sample from Crystal Palace. Nice hand to it. I will try to have a photo op for the finished flowers soon. Who knows how many others might get made in between now and then.

I did finish some items, small items. I am working on a fingerless mitten for a workshop at the Corydon Fall Fiber Festival and Market coming up in October. I have the small ladies size done, just no small ladies sized hand to photograph it on. So here's the model-less shot. I will be teaching a top down afterthought thumb fingerless mitten. Woudl that make it a TDATFM? I am now testing the pattern for the ladies medium and then will do the ladies large.
I also finished up a child's sized Doubly Divine Headband. It's looking terribly small. I didn't want it to be too loose, so I guess I went tight. I will try it on a 4 year old head I know and see if it fits. Now to start another and get it ready for display at the shop. It will be a quick class in November.
Here's a shot of the Younger, blue shorts and shirt, hard at work getting that ball. Wish I had half that energy. She's gonna be a star someday.
Today I will brave the rain to get my hair trimmed. It's getting shaggy! Then it's kitchen time for potato soup. When the weather starts to get crisp my cooking juices flow! When it's hot and humid, I wilt. So the cooler temps have got me back in the kitchen. I am heading to KY to visit a friend tomorrow so I am preparing soup today. Since it looks like it will be rainy and mild tomorrow it might be just the thing. I also plan to do a bread appetizer that we love here. Recipe to follow*
Blessings: Nice people who love to knit. There are so much more pleasant than some I have knit with.
*Recipe: Have no idea what to call it, so I'll just name it Cheesy Bread.
1 dome shaped loaf of bread, your choice on flavor. I use Sour Dough or Sun Dried Tomato
1 pacakge cubed, crumbled or shredded cheese of your choice. I use Colby Jack
1 stick of butter, melted.
Using a bread knife, make a criss-cross pattern on the top of the loaf, cutting down to within 1" of bottom crust. Pour melted butter into the cracks. Place cheese cubes into the cracks, or sprinkle the crumbles/shredded bits into the cracks. Bake in 350 oven until cheese is melted, being careful not to burn.
It is simply divine!
