I need the sweater completed and given to my Mom by 11:00 am tomorrow. Party's at noon. Will I make it? I have 2 sleeves done, 1 back done, 2 fronts within 5" of done. Still to come: Seams, collar knit and sewn on, front bands knit on and zipper sewn in. Whatever is done tonight will get washed and blocked, with a high fan to help dry it quickly overnight. Then hopefully I can do a seaming party and have it ready to gift tomorrow.
If I hit the lottery I will have time to block it during my stint as Concession Booth worker this evening. There's 3 hours of blocking it could be doing and then I would have time to start the seaming before bed. But first I have to get the fronts done and the collar knit. The collar will be knit separate and then sewn on. I have done the tubular cast ons for all the pieces and want the collar edge to match, plus I don't mind sewing on the collars since Fluffa showed me where to get the great instructions. And I hate binding off in Kitchener Rib.
Work wasn't too busy yesterday, so after putting out stock I was able to get some rows knit. But the most knitting took place last night at the Spell Bowl. Not only was I there 1 hour early to drop off Elder and get good seats, I also had time to knit while waiting for her turn at bat. She did well, but missed the easy words. She goes too fast sometimes and doesn't think through the easy stuff. But she got all the hard ones right. Our team ended up 2nd, the 1st place team scored 1 point off perfect. We had fun trying to spell along with them, my Mom and Hubster had a mini Spell Bowl going. I was too busy knitting to keep the nerves at bay. So nervous I knit past the point I should have cast off for the modified drop shoulder! So there were 2+" to rip out. But now I am on the quick part of the fronts, neck shaping will reduce the st count quickly. The collar will be 2" of knitting in 2x2 rib and that could happen this afternoon while Elder is golfing and I am keep Younger busy by letting her golf (inside). A collar would be good walking knitting.
OK, signs to be made, supplies to be gathered, concessions to be sold. Pray for me at 7:30 central time. I will be over run with hungry Talent Show watchers. Some will be trying to escape the madness and others (parents of show kids) will be reliving the glory. It will all be madness for me!
