Somebody remind me....

posted Friday, 7 April 2006

to stop staying up so late trying to get things done! There is a time and place for everything, and midnight is not the place for it. I just end up making stupid mistakes that must be ripped back. I finally put it down mid row and just went to bed. Got up this morning and in no time knit the remaining rows without any ripping back.

So now I have 2 fronts done, 1 back done and can start the sleeves, together to ensure even knitting. Only, I will be at the Fleece Fair all day tomorrow and 2 sleeves will not exactly be carry along knitting. I would love to start my wrap....but 500 yards of Duet is a hefty cake to carry. I am planning to make a Leetle Bag per Envy's great instructions. Have my fabrics already to go. But what to put in it to carry around for those down moments.

What, down time at a Fleece Fair? Yeah. It's not like a Stitches Market, where there is love at every corner. It's a smallish affair, woith wonderful vendors, but once you walk through the 3 areas, you are kind of done. It's half and half spinning and knitting, and I am just not going the spinning route right now. I do plan to stop by Big Springs booth to get more roving for needle felting. And the big purchase will be a lap top loom for Elder, the Harrisville version. Or if I find a table top style, that won't break the bank, i will get that. Off course, Mom will plan to use it too!

Other than that, there really isn't anything I need or want. OK, I want a lot, but to be realistic, I don't need to buy anything! I just got a lovely package in the mail yesterday. Saw the thing sitting on the porch and couldn't imagine what it was. Then it hit me. I traded Girl Scout Cookies for yarn!! And Miss Skinny Rabbit snuck in a surprise for me. Thanks for the trade. I love the yarn color!! Thinking I may have to pick up a contrast or complimentary color to make myself a sweater. Actually this color would be perfect for the Knitter's Stash sweater I have long wanted to make.

The Double Knits book and yarn were my trade items. The sweater I want to make with the trade yarn is from Knitter's Stash. Off to Elann to check out the other colors still available.
