Shopping spree time!! I had a day of pampering myself. Hair trimmed and ready to spend. I just picked up tops to add to my wardrobe and a pair of capris. Elder needs shorts and capris, so she got stuff too. And Younger got a cute sweater and cotton. Hubster didn't get anything, but he benefited from my shopping spree. I got a cute strappy nightgown. The fabric is soooo soft! I could wear it every night, with washing in between of course.
Then it was time to go home and wait for the storms to come in. We didn't get it as bad as other areas, but it canceled Younger's first soccer game. Each year it seems to happen. I had planned to go knit on the East side since her game wasn't far from Border's. I ended up not going out at all. I could have gone to the North side to join the usual crowd, but I just decided to not brave the weather and stay at home in my new night gown. Lynne, I guess it all depends on the outfit. Hubster sure seemed to like mine.
Even though I didn't go out to knit, I still got some knitting done. I picked up Celtic and finished out the skein I was using on the body. Then I picked up for a sleeve and I am busy working that. I figured I would rather do the sleeves before adding bulk to the body. That way I am twisting less fabric as I go round and round on the sleeves. Only, I am not yet going round and round. I am knitting flat for a few more inches and then will join in the round. I will also do the neckline before proceeding with the body. Then, when I am done with the body, I am done! It's a psych thing, as I was lamenting the time it takes to go one round on the body, now that I have both sides joined.
I hope the cables pop once I have this baby steamed. I don't know if it's the yarn or the color, but you just lose the cables it seems. Excuse the crappy flash shot, no sun so far today. But it won't matter, since I have no plans to rip this out and start over with another yarn. Click to see a larger photo. Now to stave off the desire to start an Urban Aran before I finish this Aran!
Today would be knitting with the buds, except I must get Younger to the Dr. She is seeing a Dermatologist for her Nevous Sebaceous*. There really are no sites that explain this in understandable terms. It's a spot on her head that is made up of skin, bone, etc. Something went haywire when her cells were forming. It's a possible pre-cancerous condition that we just need to watch. Before she hits puberty we need it excised, or that's what our previous Derm told us. New Ped Dr wants us to see her Derm to see what he says. So that's coming up today. I will probably get done in time to join everyone for lunch. Which is a good thing!
Blessings: Or a curse? I was moaning not having some cooler temps lately. Seems we went right to high 70's, low 80's with no stop at the 60's. Well, we got cooler temps. But I really didn't want high 20's at night and mid 40's during the day!!!!
*Dr says we can wait on it. There is only a 25% possibility of it turning cancerous, and it would only be basal cell carcinoma, which is generally the easiest form to cure. He says it doesn't have to be removed, but can be if we prefer. Younger doesn't want to have it removed, fear of surgery. Mom and Dad want it removed. So we can revisit it in a few years and see if she is ready emotionally. Dr said if we wait until she is able to handle it they can do it out patient. So we wait and watch it. He wouldn't say it NEVER could become cancerous at an early age, but he was very positive it wouldn't be an issue until she was much older. Like 65. Phew. Another worry off the list for now. Now to just watch it to be sure it changes as we expect. It will probably grow in surface depth, not in size and might have a wart like appearance. All expected when cell growth is fueled by puberty. Since it is a Sebaceous mass, as in Sebaceous Glands -Oil Glands, it grows up. We just have to watch that she doesn't injure it while doing her hair. He said it might not heal well when injured. Which is hard to do when it's surrounded by hair and we wash and fix her hair every day. Time will tell.
