What a slow day

posted Sunday, 8 January 2006

I feel like I am in slow motion right now. Although I really was busy most of the morning. But first, our dinner.

We went out to eat with my birthday cousins last night. It was wonderful. I had spent the day doing some shopping with my Steinmart birthday card, even wore the new brown dress pants I bought with a new pin. While at home knitting on a swatch, the extent of knitting the last 2 days!, the girls and Hubster walked into the room to present me with a lovely Seiko watch. I've worn it since yesterday afternoon and no breaking out yet. Fingers crossed. Then of to Cavanaugh's and a wonderful dinner of Chilean Sea Bass in a cream sauce. MMMM. The hostess told the waiter it was our birthdays and he brought out a birthday cake. We actually would have preferred to buy our own deserts, but it was a nice gesture. Then home to watch a bit of video the MIL brought when she came to babysit. It had our girls when they were younger. So nice to revisit those stages in their lives and hear those baby voices again! Then slept like a log.

Today the Hubster was laid low with a migraine. We went off to church to give him some quiet. Then my parents took us out for lunch and gave me a lovely blouse (my requested hot dog roaster is waiting to be found). Next stop was Steinmart to get more PJs like the pair I had purchased the day before. The girls ended up getting berets and they looked very European in them. Off to the Mall for Build A Bear and more shopping. 2 pair of earrings, 1 set of PJs and bear stuff resulted.

Now I am home and too tired to do much. I need to run back to choir practice, but I am putting on a pair of those jammies and getting comfy! One more day to celebrate and then I am done until the next event (Anniversary). I might even take some brownies to work tomorrow to share with my knitters. t would be lovely if my Japanese knitting books came in time for my birthday, but I doubt it. I don't really need any more books to spark my interest right now anyway!

Hope you are having a wonderful end to your weekend. Maybe the week will be full of joy and fun!

Blessings for Saturday: Good friends and good food. We decided we might take the parent's, who gave us birth, next year. Soft PJs that cover my back and legs. It's cold here! I can't stand PJs that are too short in the length of the body or legs. And with a long torso and legs, it's a usual occurence. Memories. Our children as babies, our lives before children. So wonderful to remember those times.
